In your recent article Seven Major Prophetic Signs Of The Second Coming, Heading #4, The Ancient Roman Empire Will Re-Emerge As A Political Force, explaining about Islam being the fastest growing and upcoming religion. Where does this leave the Roman Catholic church and Catholicism?
Two factors have convinced me that the Catholic Church will become closely aligned with Islam at the end of the age. First is their common veneration of Mary, and second is my belief that there are many born again Catholics in the world.
I base this opinion on Rev. 2:18-29. I believe the letter to the church in Thyatira is prophetically meant to represent the Catholic church. In Rev. 2:20-23 the Lord condemns the official Catholic system as a false religion. But then in Rev. 2:24-28 He speaks to those who have not “bought into” official Catholic doctrine, saying He will not impose any further burden on them. I believe that means they will go in the rapture.
Putting the two together, I believe that after the rapture the remnants of Catholicism will have much more in common with Islam than with the remnants of protestant Christianity.
