Could Adam Have Been Eve’s Redeemer?

Q

If Adam had refused the forbidden fruit could he have become the complete model of the messiah by acting as Eve’s redeemer?

A

For Adam to fulfill the Messianic pattern and become Eve’s redeemer would have required his life. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness (Hebrews 9:22). This would have saved Eve but left her alone. Had Adam been resurrected they could not have had children (Matt. 22:30). Either way there would have been no human race, defeating God’s purpose.
