Re: Matthew 24:30-31 Jesus is coming in the clouds, all see him and then the angels gather the elect from the four winds. Are these the saved Jews from the nations? And are they being all summoned to Jerusalem?
The rest of Matt. 24:31 says, “from one end of the heavens to the other.” Daniel 12:1-2 tells us that the faithful from Old Testament times will be resurrected at the time of the 2nd Coming. Since I believe Matt. 24 was written primarily about Jewish believers at the end of the age, it seems like Matt. 24:31 refers to the spirits of Jewish people who died in faith of a coming redeemer returning with the Lord to receive their resurrection bodies.
The parallel verse in Mark 13:27 says,” And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.” This tells us there will also be living believers on Earth at the time of the Second Coming. They will have survived the Great Tribulation and will be welcomed live into the the Millennial Kingdom. They are the sheep in the Sheep and Goat judgment (Matt. 25:31-46).
