I was wondering if it’s possible for us to have what I call “Hagar” moments in our own lives. I mean moments where God seems to have promised something, but then something else comes along which would seem like a better choice, but would only lead to disaster?

That’s a great name for it, and one I’ve never heard before. Yes, I think we do. We have them over and over. It’s the story of our lives. I don’t think we ever learn from our mistakes. It’s what makes us human.
