Q. What is the principal “event” that identifies each of the Seal Judgments as our Lord opens them, one at a time? That is, when He opens the first seal, what identifying “event” will occur on earth that marks and identifies that as the First Seal? What “event” marks and identifies His opening of the Second Seal? The Third? Etc.? Also, is it not true that the Church will be Raptured before Jesus opens the First Seal?
A. Here are the identifying events of the first 6 seal judgments based on my interpretation of Rev. 6. In the 1st Seal it’s the anti-Christ, but in his guise as a peace maker, probably on the heels of the Battle of Ezekiel 38. The 2nd Seal will be characterized by major wars breaking out in various places. (In 1 Thes. 5:3 Paul wrote that just as people are saying peace and safety, destruction will come upon them suddenly.) The 3rd Seal brings hyper inflation along with massive food shortages. It will require everything a man earns in a day just to feed himself. In the 4th Seal it’s famine and plagues over 1/4th of the Earth. The 5th Seal is characterized by the martyrdom of post rapture believers, and the major event of the 6th Seal is a massive earthquake that shakes the whole earth, triggering volcanic eruptions that fill the sky with smoke and particulates. The 7th Seal is not really a judgment in and of itself. It’s purpose is to introduce the seven trumpet judgments of Rev. 8-9. And yes, I believe the Church will be raptured before the first Seal Judgment.
