I would like your opinion on the current trend regarding the “Law of Attraction” and the book/movie “The Secret” Are they considered a false religion? Are they based on Scientology? I have been greatly blessed by your wisdom and insight.
Although most of the self improvement techniques like the Law of Attraction actually come from the Bible, they are commonly associated more with the New Age. I wouldn’t call The Secret a religious book. It’s just the currently popular repackaging of Biblical principles in a secular format that began with the first so-called self help book over 50 years ago. It fits into the category of secular humanism and so isn’t really a religion, and bears no similarity to Scientology, which in my opinion is a false religion.
