Q
In The Gospel Of John Ch. 11 Verse 35 , why did Jesus weep if he was going to raise Lazarus from the dead and why was he moved in spirit ?
A
Jesus wept over the death of Lazarus because it was a vivid demonstration of the devastating effect of sin entering the world. Even though He had healed untold thousands and raised several others from the dead, He knew those He healed would get sick again and those He raised from the dead, including Lazarus, would die again. This was not the way the Creation was intended to be, and it understandably made Him sad to think of all those who already had died and and still more who would die before sickness and death would be banished forever.
