Just Because We Believe

Q

Is the fact that we “believe without seeing” the only reason the Church is the most blessed “group” in all humanity? Is our faith the reason that God only granted to us salvation that we can’t lose and declared us the most blessed group, or there are any other reasons?

A

When the Lord showed Thomas his wounds to prove He had risen from the dead, Thomas finally believed. Then He said, “Because you have seen me you have believed. Blessed are they who have not seen and yet have believed” (John 20:24-29). The only reason that we’re in such a special relationship with God is that we took Him at His word. We believe by faith alone, and that’s all He requires of us (John 6:28-29).

Believing by faith alone is what gave us the right to become children of God (John 1:12-13). It’s what makes us heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). Believing by faith alone is why our salvation is guaranteed (Ephesians 1:13-14). It’s why we’re considered by God to be as righteous as He is (Romans 3:21-22), perfect forever (Hebrews 10:12-14).

God has raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the Heavenly realms so that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace (Ephesians 2:6-7). No other group ever has or ever will enjoy the kind of relationship we have with God. And it’s all because we believe by faith alone.
