Q. I was reading your answer to the question about the Kingdom of God saying the kingdom would never be destroyed or given to another etc. I thought that after one thousand years the earthly kingdom would be delivered up to God by Christ and the earth would be burnt up and everything made new for eternity etc ?
A. I was quoting Daniel 2:44 which says,
“In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.”
Neither of the things you mention will cause the end of the Kingdom or result in it being given to another. When Jesus hands over the kingdom to the Father, as Paul explained in 1 Cor. 15:24, He won’t be giving it to another people. And when Earth and everything in it is laid bare as Peter revealed in 2 Peter 3:10, the Kingdom itself won’t be destroyed, it will be transformed. As Daniel said, once established, the Kingdom will remain forever.
