In John 11:24 Martha referred to the resurrection at the last day. What last day does this refer to? Is this the last day before the new heaven and earth, the last day before the millennium starts, a period of time, or some other last day?
The resurrection of believers, to which Martha was referring, will take place in two events that will bracket the end times judgments. First you have the resurrection of Church Age believers which will take place at the same time as the rapture (1 Cor. 15:51-53, 1 Thes 4:16-17), before the end times judgments begin. Then you have the resurrection of Old Testament and Tribulation believers which will occur after the judgments have ended at the time of the 2nd Coming (Danie1 12:1-2, Rev. 20:4). These two events constitute the beginning and the end of the period of time known as the “last day”.
