I just got through reading your article about Paul, Timothy And The End Times. As I was reading, the passage of 2 Timothy 3:1-5 absolutely cut me to the quick. I have been greatly struggling and feel as though I would be lucky to be the person who gets in to heaven simply as the man who “slides in though the flames” in Corinthians 3:15. I feel that my faith is proving itself to be nothing more than a form of godliness whose power I am denying. Any words of encouragement and help would be a blessing.
What you’re feeling is the conviction of the Holy Spirit. The Lord loves you just as much as ever, but wants the two of you to be as close as you once were. The solution is for you to ask for 2 things. First, seek forgiveness for allowing yourself to drift away (1 John 1:9). Second, ask for guidance in restoring your life to its previous level of intimacy (James 4:7-8). As soon as you do this, you’ll stop feeling bad about the way things are and will notice them returning to the way they used to be.
