The Mystery Of 1 Cor. 15:51

Q

I have a question concerning the rapture. In 1 Cor 15:51 Paul tells us a mystery that we shall be changed and the last trump will sound. Do you believe that last trump has nothing to do with feast, but is to Israel and the Law comes back into existence since the church will be leaving and the grace period will end? Also I read your blood moons study and you don’t see evidence that it has any part of the rapture can this also be part of the mystery?

A

Paul’s phrase, “I tell you a mystery” is roughly equivalent to the English idea of revealing a secret. It means he was sharing information that had never been publicly disclosed before, which was that a generation of believers would suddenly be changed from mortal to immortal without passing through death first.

I don’t believe Paul was equating the last trump in 1 Cor. 15:51 with either the last trumpet of the feast of Trumpets or with the 7th trumpet of the Book of Revelation but was referring to the last trumpet we would hear on Earth. The rapture is not a Jewish event, and is not meant to fulfill a Jewish Feast, and Paul said the rapture will occur when the Church has reached its full number (Romans 11:25), regardless of what day it happens to be. Also the seventh trumpet of Revelation 11:15 is never called the last trump and will be blown by an angel to announce an event originating in Heaven, not by God to announce an event originating on Earth (1 Thes. 4:16).

Finally, if the so-called blood moons have any prophetic significance, I believe it will be to Israel and not to the Church.
