I read an article that claims America is the Bibilical “Mystery Babylon” which will be destroyed by a Russian nuclear bomb exploded by 1/1/2016 at 20 mile over the middle of America causing a great electromagnetic field that will turn us into darkness. Also, President Obama is the king of the South and Putin is the king of the North. Putin will invade America with his allies. Do you think that there is any Scripture to support these alarming predictions?
Some people try to make America into Mystery Babylon, but there is no Biblical support for this opinion. America is not mentioned in the Bible at all, Russia is only mentioned in connection with the Battle of Ezekiel 38-39 as Magog, and the kings of the North and South have historically been Turkey/Syria and Egypt respectively. Therefore this whole scenario is simply the figment of one person’s imagination.
