Peace And Safety, Then Sudden Destruction

Q

Reading 1Thessalonians 5:3, speaking about “peace and safety, then sudden destruction will come upon them”…etc. It gives me the impression that this could take place between the period of the rapture and the treaty being signed. Can this be the case? I can imagine the world being in chaos and rampant violence every where, or is this scripture only related to Israel?

A

I believe the period of peace Paul referred to here is the false peace that will begin upon the conclusion of the Battle of Ezekiel 38 and last through the first Seal of Rev. 6:1-2. In the first seal the rider on the white horse is the one who will later be identified as the anti-Christ. According to Daniel 8:25 he will come as a peacemaker and make people feel secure. I believe he will do this with the 7 year treaty spoken of in Daniel 9:27. Then in Rev. 6:3-4 the 2nd seal will be opened introducing the rider on the red horse, who is empowered to take peace from the Earth. I believe this is the beginning of the destruction that comes upon people suddenly.
