Re: Peace And Safety Then Destruction. My question concerns the time between the Rapture and the beginning of the Tribulation. If the world is in total chaos after the Rapture, what would lead to a brief time of peace before the Tribulation? Would it take several months of “recovery” until the Antichrist appears?
First, let me remind you that no one knows exactly how this is all going to unfold because the Bible does not offer any detail on this. Every opinion people give, including the one I gave in “Peace and Safety, Then Destruction” is just that, an opinion.
That said, I believe the rapture will happen at the same general time as the Battle of Ezekiel 38. The anti-Christ will enforce a seven year covenant as a result of Ezekiel’s battle that begins Daniel’s 70th Week with a brief period of peace.
The concept of peace does not mean the absence of chaos, it means the absence of war. After World War 2 there was great celebration in many places over the return of peace but for a significant period of time there was still chaos in the world as people recovered. Whole communities had been displaced and the whereabouts of millions were unknown. It took years for things to return to some sense of normalcy.
In the case of Daniel’s 70th Week the world never will return to being normal as the brief period of peace will suddenly end and the wrath of God will fall upon the Earth.
