Preparing A Place For Us

Q

You teach us that the Rapture is not a timed event but a numerical event. That God has a certain number of members in the Church in mind rather than a certain time for it to happen.
I’m wondering then, could that number be the number of living spaces, or “mansions”, available in the New Jerusalem for the Church to live? If New Jerusalem has specific measurements, then it follows that there are a certain number of spaces available for our “mansions”.

A

If you’re asking whether the New Jerusalem was designed to accommodate the specific number of believers the Church will contain, then I would say yes. God knew that number from the beginning and made certain that our eternal home would have sufficient space for all of us. Remember, our names were written in the Lamb’s book of life from the creation of the world (Rev. 13:8), but Jesus didn’t begin preparing the new Jerusalem until after His resurrection (John 14:2-3).
