Psalm 83 And Zechariah 14

Q

I had a question after reading your article on Psalm 83. Well, two things.

Do you think it’s interesting that we may also have a Barak in charge here soon?

And two, when do you think Zech. 14:2 will happen? “Half the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.” They are talking of dividing Jerusalem and giving East Jerusalem to the Palestinians, which of course will result in them terrorizing the residents. Don’t you think that is more imminent, or perhaps will be the result of this battle you are expecting.

A

I had quite a chuckle when I first realized that the general in charge of the battle with the Canaanites mentioned in Psalm 83 was named Barak, the same as Israel’s current defense minister.

Actually I think the two events will be separated by at least 7 years because I think the battle of Psalm 83 is imminent while Zechariah 14:2 takes place just before the 2nd Coming as part of the Battle of Armageddon.

Verse two tells of all the nations of the world being gathered against Jerusalem whereas in Psalm 83 it’s only Israel’s neighbors. And Zechariah 14:4 says that on the same day the Lord will stand on the Mt. of Olives.
