Re: Punishment Day? Psalm 50,Daniel 12:1,2 and Rev. 20:4 indicate that the Old Testament Saints & Tribulation martyrs will be resurrected during the glorious second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Before the second coming, the judgment of believers happens at the bema seat where they will be rewarded. How about the judgment of Old Testament Saints & Tribulation martyrs for their rewards?
Beyond the gift of eternal life, the Bible only mention additional rewards for the Church. I believe one reason for this is that only the Church is required to believe by faith alone (John 6:28-29). All other groups will have clear evidence from God that He is Who He claims to be.
When Thomas refused to believe the Lord had been resurrected until he saw evidence to that effect, the Lord accommodated him and showed Thomas His scars. At this, Thomas believed. Then the Lord said, “Because you have seen me you believe. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (John 20:24-29).
In addition, God chose the Church as the group through which He would display the incomparable riches of His grace in ages yet to come (Ephes. 2:6-7). No other group before or after the Church has been or will be blessed in this way.
