Salvation

Q

Every church I’ve attended , the minister/vicar/priest
always want everybody in the world to receive salvation.
But surely that’s not possible is it? Is salvation really that easy?
I personally believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins and
I believe He is my savior.  But if everybody was to believe that (and I do mean everybody) then everybody would be raptured.  Maybe I’m just confused.

A

No, you’re not confused. Having everybody in the world receive salvation and be raptured is exactly what God wants and that’s why He made it so easy. In 1 Tim. 2:3-4 He said He wants all of us to be saved and come to a knowledge  of the truth, and in In 2 Peter 3:9 He said He doesn’t want anyone to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Belief in what Jesus did for us is the only condition He has imposed on our salvation (John 6:28-29).  Over and over again He said whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life.

But that’s not the problem.  The problem is that most people don’t believe He died for them so they could live with Him forever, and refuse His offer of salvation.
