Q. What is baptism of Holy Spirit? Do we have it when we say the sinner’s prayer? Does Holy Spirit convict us of sin or righteousness? Thanks for answering once again!
A. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a second baptism that Pentecostals believe happens when a believer is invested with Spiritual Gifts. Some believe that the gift of tongues is given as evidence that this has happened. The second Baptism teaching is thought to be based on a misinterpretation of Scripture by most believers outside the Pentecostal movement.
John 16:8 says the Holy spirit will convict the world (not the Church) in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment.
