The Kingdom Of God

Q

I just finished reading your article on Gospel of the kingdom, and it seems to me that , according to what I read, the period of grace which the present church is enjoying is the period between the 69th and 70th week of Daniel’s prophecy. What is the difference and / or similarity between kingdom of God and the present church of God? Another one is that, the kingdom of God prophesied by Daniel, is it a physical kingdom or a spiritual one?

A

Yes, I believe the present Church Age exists in the time between the 69th and 70th week of Daniel’s 70 weeks prophecy (Daniel 9:24-27). It began at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was given and will end with the rapture of the Church, after which the 70th week of Daniel’s prophecy will be fulfilled.

The Kingdom of God spoken of in Daniel 2:44 and Daniel 7:27 refers primarily to Israel in the Kingdom age, aka the Millennium. The Kingdom of God that Jesus talked about in Matt. 21:43 and other places refers to the Church, which because of Israel’s rejection of the Messiah has become God’s spiritual Kingdom on Earth until the Rapture takes us to our permanent home in the New Jerusalem. After that Israel will become God’s Kingdom on Earth again, and it will be a physical Kingdom, like it was before.
