Hello Jack, thank you for your ministry and website. My question is about the Church of Laodicea and the Apostate Church of Revelation 17 – 18. In Rev 3:17 Jesus says to the Church of Laodicea …. “you don’t know that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked”. I believe the word “naked” means they are unbelievers which leads me to believe there are no believers in this church. But then in Rev 18:4 God says …. “Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins, or receive any of her plagues.” This leads me to believe there are believers in this Apostate Church as God calls them “My people”.
So, I don’t know how to reconcile these two depictions of the last days church. I was thinking that Laodicea is before the rapture and the church of Rev 17-18 is after the rapture, but if that’s the case, where are the believers during the time of Laodicea? Please help me sort this out!
While the Church of Laodicea in Rev. 3:14-22 is descriptive of the End times Apostate church on Earth now, Rev.17 describes the Anti-Christ’s one world religion (Mystery Babylon) into which the Laodicean Church will be absorbed after the Rapture. In Rev. 18 we have the one world commercial and government enterprise headquartered in Babylon. Both are active during the time of the Great Tribulation. The people God is calling to in Rev. 18:4 are Tribulation believers who will be living in Babylon at the time of its destruction at the time of the GReat Tribulation. He’s calling them to get out of town before the city is destroyed.
