Q. Regarding your comments on the two witnesses and that Elijah returned as John the Baptist. This sounds like Elijah was reincarnated through John, and I do not think that is or was the case? Would a better interpretation be that John came with the spirit and boldness of Elijah, but was not Elijah reincarnate?
A. I didn’t say Elijah was reincarnated, nor do I believe he was, and the Bible does not support the concept of reincarnation. But in Luke 1:17 Gabriel told Zechariah that his son (John) would “go on before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah“. And in Matt. 17:12 Jesus said, “But I tell you, Elijah has already come and they did not recognize him.” Verse 13 says the disciples understood that He was talking about John the Baptist.
My point was that having been taken into Heaven would not disqualify Elijah from being one of the 2 witnesses of Rev. 11.
