Q. I was reading a recent post that referenced Ezekiel 43:6-7. After reading the verses, I’m not certain what the Lord is saying. Is God promising that the house of Israel will one day no longer defile the place of His throne? I don’t understand the prophecy that is being spoken of here.
A. The words of Ezekiel 43:6-7 will be spoken by God following the 2nd Coming after He returns to the Temple in Israel ending a 2600 year absence. His departure was prompted by the fact that as they reported for Temple duty the priests of Ezekiel’s time first took time to worship their pagan Gods before beginning their Temple work (Ezekiel 8).
In Ezekiel 43:6-7 God is saying that in the Millennium they won’t do this any more, Israel having been cured of its idolatry. Therefore God will once again be able to live among them in His Temple in Israel and this time it will be forever.
