Thank you for your website. For some reason yours is the one that I gravitate towards. What practical advice would you give concerning our money? Should we buy gold, store up any supplies? Do you think that this is at all necessary given what is going on with our economy or am I focusing on the wrong thing?
The biggest problem we face is there’s no path to a clear solution because no one knows how this is going to shake out. In the past everyone had confidence that situations like this were temporary and could plan accordingly. But this time I believe the Lord is in the process of taking us to a point where we can only look to Him for our security. Fortunately, He promised that if we’ll just focus on seeking His Kingdom and His righteousness He’ll take care of all our needs. (Matt. 6:31-33)
I truly believe the time has come to finally turn our backs on the things of this world and and begin believing that He’ll keep His promise to us. That doesn’t mean we throw caution to the wind and live like there’s no tomorrow. It means we focus on Him and learn to listen for His voice. He’ll tell us what He wants us to do.
In the mean time, use what you have to store up treasure in Heaven (Matt. 6:19-21). For example, you can look around you for a place where you can tell He’s working and pitch in. If you can stock up on some things you should do so, but not so you’ll be self reliant. Do it so you’ll be in a position to help others when He calls on you.
