Where Did Other Religions Come From?

Q

I have a question regarding other religions. I would like to know how these religion came into existence. And whom will these people support in the end of days?

A

If you believe the world was created the way the Bible describes it, then you know that initially all mankind believed in God. This means all other religions began as a corruption of His truth.

After sin came into the world, people began to question the truth and looked for other ways to explain how the world came to be. These seeds of doubt were sown in their minds by Satan, who has always encouraged people to seek alternatives to God’s truth. The first example of that was in Genesis 3:1 when he put doubt in Eve’s mind by asking, “Did God really say …” ?

Paul said this will happen again at the end of the age. In 1 Timothy 4:1 He said. “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.”

And in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 he said, “For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”

Rev. 13:8 tells us in the end of days most people will support the anti-Christ and follow him. Paul said his coming will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all sorts of counterfeit miracles, signs, and wonders and every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved (2 Thes. 2:9-10).

Empowered by Satan, the anti-Christ will stand in the temple and claim to be God (2 Thes 2:4), and the post rapture world will worship him. But God says, “I am the LORD and there is no other, apart from me there is no God” (Isaiah 45:5)
