I have a family member who asks “why would God choose us to ‘Escape’ the 7 year Tribulation period, when all thru the centuries, there have been Christians who have suffered and died for their Faith?” I have tried explains to her about the difference in sufferings/tribulation in general and the 7 year Tribulation/Great Tribulation, which is God’s wrath upon unbelievers and workers of evil and iniquity! What else can I tell her that might help her in accepting a Pre-Trib Rapture?
There is really only one reason for the Lord to save the generation of believers alive at the time of the end times judgments, and that’s because He promised He would. In Rev. 3:10 He said,
“Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.”
The hour of trial will only come upon one generation of unbelievers, the one alive on earth during the 7 years preceding His coming. Therefore, only one generation of believers will escape it, those alive at the same time.
