Christmas in Mexico 2025!

Merry Christmas! Here’s a glimpse of our week of outreaches in Mexico.

Quick links to the other parts this week:

For Christmas, we brought each child a warm fleece blanket and gave all families groceries, including supplies for the Christmas meal, tamales, and posole (a soup with hominy). We also brought the kids snacks and a small bag of candy (the kind that kids would usually get from a piñata!).

First stop for Christmas!

n addition to the groceries and blankets, friends sent us a large box of stuffed animals to give as well!

Two of the areas we serve are families who work the fields. Just like in the US, field workers are very low-paid (even by local standards) and work very long hours (10-14 hours, depending on the season, with only Sundays off). There’s a core group of families there, but there’s also a lot of turnover in this work because it’s so hard. We never know how many families will be there when we bring groceries each month.
When friends sent a large box of stuffed animals, we knew we wanted to give them to the kids here first. And they loved choosing a toy themselves.

Our second stop

This area is also filled with families of field workers. You might also remember one of the couples from this area. A few years ago, we helped an older couple who lost their home in a fire. ( You can see more about there here) Too old to work the fields, they made a living making and selling tamales around town. When their home burned, so did their ability to make a living, and we were so grateful to help them restart both their home and work.

At the refugee camp

This is another area where we won’t know how many will be there until we arrive, so we always bring extra supplies!

Christmas with our Escuelita

And then, after our deliveries were complete, we held our Christmas celebration with the families of our escuelita! This year, because the group has grown so much, we held it at the park in town. We had pizza, piñatas and candy, and gave out blankets and groceries

More blankets

These little ones couldn’t make it to the escuelita party, so they got their blankets at our next escuelita group.

My heart is so full, and I’m so grateful for all the generosity that made this possible! Thank you all for your prayers and giving that brought so much joy to so many children this Christmas! ♥

Thank you so much for praying with us for those we serve together!
