This week in India 5-23-25

Here’s a glimpse of our outreaches in India. This week, we have an update on little Rebecca, who is healing from her third-degree wounds, and a huge prayer request for the flooding at the Prayer House village. Update: a huge praise and prayer request updated after sharing.

Rebecca update!
(If you’re new, you can see our first prayer request post here, and the follow-up here)
Little Rebecca is doing remarkably well! We are still bringing her in to the hospital every two days to change the bandages and make sure the wounds stay infection-free. Rebecca is feeling pretty weak from all this and the strong antibiotics she is on, but she is healing quicker and better than the doctors expected! Thank you SO much for praying for her!
Flooding
Update! After sharing this, the entire village went to the government offices to ask for help. We have done this every time it floods and every time developers have tried to force them to move, for several years. This time, the heart of the person they spoke to was moved to help them. He said he has land for them!! It’s 5 km away (allowing the kids to stay in their same schools!) and he can provide each family with an official authorization to stay on the land. The catch is that they may not rebuild their huts, they need permanent houses made of mud. This is our desire for them too! But he said they have three months to complete them! Please join us in prayer for the ability to fulfill this requirement. This is a tall order, but we have prayed for this for so many years, and we know God won’t bring us this far and not allow us to complete it! ♥
There was a heavy unexpected storm that left the whole area, not just the village, under water. Please pray with us for our village here and for protection for them and their huts and belongings and also from the water snakes and water-borne illnesses.
This village has endured significant persecution and intimidation from neighbors in the area. We have been praying for a place for them for several years now. And we continue to pray for God’s perfect provision for them, while we praise Him for providing for them during this persecution. Thank you so much for so faithfully praying with us for them!
