This week in India 9-13-24

Here’s a glimpse of our week of outreaches in India.

Quick links to the other parts this week:

Amazing news + prayer request

This is exciting! We’ve all been praying for a safe place for this tribe to live for a long time now. Their huts are at risk of being flooded every time it rains. They have experienced persecution from their neighbors and real estate developers.

The government notified them that they must leave the area because of the flood risk. We have had the Lord intervene over and over each time they’ve been given a forceful eviction notice. They are at risk of flooding, but it’s safer than being homeless! Land and housing in this area is very expensive. The cost of living for groceries and other things can be very economical, but land and housing is exponentially more expensive in this area.

While we have been praying for God’s solution for them, our group had the idea to petition the government for help, but we have been met with great resistance at every step. But here’s the amazing news. On an exciting call with our volunteer, he told me they only have one more step to go through in this process. Our group is praying that they will receive assistance by December!!

Please pray with us for God’s provision for them. We pray for God to provide however He wants, in His perfect timing. We pray for all obstacles to be supernaturally removed, and we pray for the hearts of each decision-maker so that they will be moved with compassion and generosity for our people.

Dengue

Our sweet volunteer in India is down with dengue! Please pray for her complete healing with us.  Thankfully, the hospital said it is not so severe she needs to be in the hospital for treatment, and they have given us all the medication she needs to recover at home. Our group met with her to pray for her and encourage her.

Around the village

Little Lokesh has a lump on his cheek. He doesn’t have a fever, so the docs have given some medicine to help before they do more tests. We are praying for healing from whatever is causing this!

Prayer meeting

After hearing the news about their case getting to the last step, our group met to pray and worship!

Memory Verses

In English! We are so proud of these kids, and so are their parents. The parents were saying how never in their wildest dreams did they imagine their kids would have the opportunity to learn English. Because English is the second official language in the country, speaking it will bring them more opportunities in life.

Our School Classes

And that’s our week! We continue to pray for the rescue of the prayer house village from all that opposes them.  Thank you so much for praying with us!
