Here’s a glimpse of our week of outreaches in Mexico.

Pray for Flor and family

Please pray with us for this sweet family. Flor lost her husband a couple of weeks ago. She had been his full-time caretaker as he became disabled due to advanced diabetes. Their son is 12, and she talked about how it’s similar to the timing when Aidan lost his dad. She told me she was trying not to break down in front of him and be strong, and I was able to tell her all the women I heard from when we lost Jack that said if they could change anything, it would be not to have hidden their grief from their kids. That they wish they had modeled that none of them had to hide their grief.

Mito’s House Project

One of the benefits of concrete block construction is that you can add on a second story in the future as the family grows. The tricky part of this is planning for the stairs now or later and closing off the area if they’re included. So that’s what we’re working on now. Our guys are building a small enclosure above the stairs to close it off and make it habitable. (You can see more about this project at the bottom of our outreach post here.)
