Week in review October 19 2019

I love this time of year with the Fall Feasts! This week continues our studies, both on  The Feast of Tabernacles, Feast of Booths, Sukkot. Our outreaches continue in Mexico and India! Continue reading to see a glimpse from our outreaches this week as well as a recap of all the posts on the site.

Thank you!

It was four years ago today that I announced we lost the battle (that lasted only a week), and Jack passed away during the previous night. In some ways, it seems like just yesterday, and in others like a lifetime ago, but the amount I miss him hasn’t changed.

Four years ago I was pretty sure that was where the ministry would end. It’s a Bible-teaching ministry after all, and the Bible teacher was gone.

But the Lord has not only allowed me to continue it, He commanded me to do so. The Lord has sustained and increased it in these four years. Jack and I always wanted GTF to show that God is real, but not just that, that He loves, cares and provides for us. We would continue as long as He saw fit. It wouldn’t be because of any human influence or skill, but because the Lord brought those who would be blessed and He would prompt generous people to give. Both our churches began after Jack went Home. Oh, how he would have loved to be involved in this! I know it’s no comparison to being at the Lord’s side, but it’s pretty amazing what the Lord has done these four years. And we get to be a part of it! It’s an incredible blessing and privilege.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for your friendship, love, encouragement, and support. None of this would be here without you. I’m beyond grateful, and I love every one of you.

Here are some pics from our outreaches this week.

Our Adult Literacy Center

The women have completed the next course in the curriculum, and instead of jumping into the next, they want to learn some skills during the last few months of the year. They can now read and write, and next up is building vocabulary and increasing skills to a higher adult level.

We’ve been praying about the next steps, please pray with us. They would love to learn crafts along with their kids! And they also would love to do sewing classes! Our amazing volunteer who teaches the classes also sews and has offered to teach them! We were going to try to sneak in some classes during the week when we don’t have literacy classes, but our landlord is upset when we’re on the property too often. It’s a hard balance for him between helping us, his tenants, and pleasing the neighbors who are prejudiced against this tribe. Please continue to pray for him and for our favor with him.

So this week, the kids and some of the moms got together to make crafts. I’m excited to see the moms get more involved because creative arts are things they never got to do as children.

Video from the week

Joel’s Birthday!

Guess who just turned 6?! Our little Joel isn’t so very little anymore. We pray this next year he continues to grow in health! He has come such a long way since his surgery at the end of 2017. For those of you who are new here, here’s the page before his surgery, the one with his surgery updates with links to more details about him and how we met his tribe. And here’s after the surgery.

Prayer and Sunday School Classes

You may know the twins (they’re both in red shirts below), they’ve just had another growth spurt and are looking a little less identical! I’m so blessed watching these little ones grow up! They are so precious and I’m so grateful!

We’ve had some interference with bank transfers. But we finally got all the money to India needed and we’re able to get all the outreach items we were missing! Thank you, Lord.

Thank you for keeping us, this ministry and our outreaches in prayer, and thank you for your support! We couldn’t do any of this without you.
