Look at the nations and watch – and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told. Habakkuk 1:5

"Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations. Isaiah 42:1

Those who don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. Hebr. 11:1-2

When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men.
Ephe 4:8

The continued survival of the Jewish people in spite of numerous and concerted efforts to exterminate them unequivocally demonstrates God's existence, His presence in the world and His involvement in the affairs of man.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

Romans 9 spoke of God's sovereign election of Israel as His chosen. In chapter 10 we saw how in the obsessive pursuit of a righteousness of their own, they rejected the righteousness that comes from God. But the rejection was clearly temporary, its duration dependent upon their response.

Our last study began with God's election of Israel as His chosen people. In Chapter 10 we'll see how they came to be rejected.

Romans 3:21-4:25
But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
