Q. On June 7th 1967 the capital of Israel, Jerusalem, was unified again and the Jews gained their political government back. Did that in fact start the stopwatch on the End Times?? I’m referring to Luke 21:32.
A. Luke 21:24 says, “Jerusalem will be trampled upon by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.”
Rev. 11:2 says, “But exclude the outer court, do not measure it because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the Holy City for 42 months.”
42 months is equivalent to 3 1/2 years, the duration of the Great Tribulation, which will begin in Rev. 13. That means the times of the Gentiles will not be fulfilled until the 2nd Coming.
In addition, the Jews had a legally constituted political government located in Jerusalem beginning with the official formation of the nation in 1948.
Therefore I don’t see June of 1967 as a good start date for the End Times. I think the re-birth of the nation in 1948 is the correct time.
