A Question On Ezekiel 38

Q

Thanks so much for your articles on Ezekiel and the end times. I have been thinking about this
quite a bit and have been reading Ezekiel 38-39. Ezekiel 38:19-21 talks about a great shaking
in the land of Israel but in verse 20 it says “and all creeping things…and all the men that are on
the face of the earth shall shake in my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down…
and every wall shall fall to the ground.” My question is, do you think this is a world wide
earthquake or is it limited to Israel? If it is not world wide then why do all the men of the earth
shake?

A

A literal reading of the passage indicates that the earthquake will be centered in the land of Israel but that it will strike fear into the hearts of every living thing on Earth. This is due to the fact that they’ll intuitively know they’ve felt the power of God and it wasn’t a good feeling.
