Adam’s Age. Follow Up

Q

I was wondering if there is any Biblical reference to Adam’s age upon creation? Paintings always show Adam as an adult (around 30 years old). I know these are just paintings from someone’s imagination, but it got me wondering.   Any insight is appreciated.

A

As far as I know there is nothing in the Bible about the state of Adam’s physical maturity at the time of his creation.  All we’re told is the length of time that transpired between his creation and his death, which the Bible tells us was 930 years (Genesis 5:5).  Anything beyond that is just someone’s imagination, as you’ve said.

Adam and Eve were obviously mature enough to work the land for their food and have children by the time of the Fall, but we have no way of knowing how much time had transpired since their creation.
