Armed Guards In Churches?

Q

Given the increase in violence around the world toward Christians and especially with this week’s incident in Charleston, would God consider a congregation’s decision to post armed members at church entrances a lack of faith? I am asking this question acknowledging that state laws regarding firearms in public places and carry permits would have to be obeyed.

A

In the early days of the Church, believers were very careful about who they admitted to their meetings and often posted guards and/or lookouts to protect them from harm during meetings. In some parts of the world this is still the case today. I think these precautions will soon become more commonplace in parts of the US as well.
