Did Moses Write About Jesus?

Q. In John chapter 5: 46. Jesus says, “If you believed Moses, you would believe me for he wrote about me.” Please, where does Moses write about the messiah? Your site is a source of much joy and blessing to me. Thank you for explaining God’s Word so simply and clearly.

A. The five books of Moses are liberally sprinkled with symbolic references to Jesus. Some of the most famous are the sacrifice of Isaac (Gen. 22), the Passover Lamb (Exodus 12), the Bread from Heaven (Exodus 16) the Smitten Rock (Exodus 17:1-7 and Numbers 20:1-12), the Bronze Snake (Numbers 21:4-9) But perhaps the clearest is from Deut.18:17-19, where the prophet like Moses is promised.
