I read with interest today’s letter and your response to Jude’s mention of Satan’s interest in Moses’ body and your comparison of Old testament Moses as a type of new testament Jesus.
I have always wondered about this and now my conclusion leads me to believe the “body” of Moses may be followers of the law just as Jesus body is the church through grace.
It’s an interesting comparison, but Israel is never called the “body of Moses” in scripture. Also, from the context of Jude’s statement, it seems clear he was talking about the actual body of Moses that God had buried in Moab on the eastern side of the Jordan river valley in modern Jordan.
The fact that God spoke to Moses just previously and then buried him (Deut. 34:5-8) adds confirmation to the fact that this was the actual body of Moses.
