Great site. Henry Blackaby asks in his Seven Realities For Experiencing GOD this question: What ways other than Faith have you tried to earn GOD’s approval? I thought that was the only way needed, Are there other ways than Faith needed?
According to John 6:28-29, faith is the only thing that God requires of us. And Ephesians 2:8-9 says that we’re saved by grace through faith and not by works. Hebrews 11:6 says that without faith it is impossible to please Him.
But that was not Blackaby’s question. He wants to know if you have tried to earn God’s approval by something in addition to faith, such as doing good works to please Him. And so when you are answering his question if there have been other ways you have tried in the past, you should list those.
