My question is in regard to the recent earthquake activity. Since God’s wrath doesn’t start until the tribulation, are the earthquake “birth pangs” a result of creation crying out for Christ’s return?

In Matt. 24:7-8 the earthquakes are only described as birth pangs. But in Romans 8:19 Paul said the creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. In Romans 8:22 He said the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of child birth. This could include the growing frequency of volcanic eruptions as well as earthquakes.
