Re: Matthew 24:37-39 Why did Jesus say eating and drinking and marriage? Why didn’t he mention violence going on or bad things happening everywhere. Why did he refer to those days with that explanation. Everyone eats and drinks nowadays and gets married? I don’t understand what he might actually mean?
In a way you’ve answered your own question because you’re right. Everyone eats and drinks and gets married. It’s a normal part of life. Most people in the Great Tribulation will think the world is just going through some very difficult times but that it will soon be over and everything will go back to normal. They’ll have no idea the world is about to end, so they’ll be doing the things people do everyday assuming that eventually life will get better just like it always has.
