News reports have detailed accounts of people from the Obama campaign staff using grant money from the US State department to mobilize the vote against Netanyahu (read one here). Leaders of Arab parties were even flown to the US on expedited visas to be taught how to unify their parties for increased influence at the polls. As a result the unified Arab party finished 3rd in the election. Netanyahu also reported money flowing into the opposition party from European NGO’s.
