Feeling Betrayed

Q

My husband and I recently purchased a praise and worship video and now he has become enamored with one of the group’s singers. He has even dreamed about her. Divorce is out of the question. I just need some scriptures to cling to while waiting for the Lord to either change my husband’s mind and actions or for the rapture. Thank you.

It sounds like your husband has a crush on a woman he’s never met. Nor is he ever likely to meet her, so this is not what it seems. Think of it as a spiritual attack on your marriage from the devil. James 4:7 says to submit yourself to God. Then it says to resist the devil and he’ll flee from you.

Instead of being focused on your husband’s behavior, which you can’t control, focus on your own, which you can. Become your husband’s prayer warrior, and when the devil tries to make you feel jealous or angry, reject the thought and rebuke him in the Lord’s name. Then ask the Lord to forgive both of you, your husband for his irrational behavior and you for your jealousy.

Like I said, you’re in a spiritual battle, but you have divine weapons at your disposal. 2 Cor. 10:3-5 shows you how to use them.

Above all, remember that the Lord has promised to work everything together for your good (Rom. 8:28). Ask Him to reveal the good that will come from this to help keep you focused on victory.
