In Rev. 13:9 we read, “He who has an ear, let him hear.” Another prophecy teacher quoted this scripture as evidence that the church will be raptured before the tribulation. He said that “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” appears 7 times in the book of Rev. The only time it appears without “what the Spirit says to the churches” is in Rev. 13:9. Is this omission evidence that the church is already gone?
The simple explanation for this is that in Rev. 2-3 the Lord was speaking to 7 churches while in Rev. 13:9 He is speaking to the whole world. Although I believe the Church will be gone well before Rev. 13 when the great tribulation begins, I wouldn’t rely on this verse to support my belief. There are lots of other better ones, which I’ve cited in numerous articles on the pre-trib rapture.
