Infant Baptism

Q

My mother and brother both attend churches that believe in baptizing babies. I was wondering where it says in the bible that babies always see the face of the Father, or something else that I could show them that would allow them to see the truth. Thank you so much.

A

The verse you’re looking for is Matt. 18:10-11. “See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.” But please understand that there’s nothing wrong with baptizing babies as long as you realize that doing so will not assure their salvation. They can only do that for themselves after they’re old enough to know what they’re doing. Infant baptism is a really more of a dedication ceremony or christening. It’s the formal welcoming of a new baby into the religious community of the parents.
