Will the rapture happen before Damascus being in ruins or after? I have heard more people say before then after, but some might argue that its a safety thing. Christians being in Syria so they will be raptured before Damascus is destroyed?

No one knows the answer to that question since neither the dates for the Rapture nor for Isaiah 17 are given. Personally, I wouldn’t count on it happening after the Rapture. Christians are only promised to be spared from the judgments of the last 7 years. (1 Thes 1:10 & Rev. 3:10)
