I was wondering if you think nuclear weapons are mentioned in the Bible? I’m thinking about 1 Thessalonians 5:3 or Zechariah 14:12. I’m especially concerned for Israel as Iran moves ahead on it’s nuclear program with the blessings of the U.S and other countries. Do you think that Iran will be successful in launching a nuclear attack on Israel or any other country before the Rapture of the Church occurs?
Many commentators see hints of the use of nuclear weapons in the Battle of Ezekiel 38-39. They point to the methods used for cleaning up the battle field (Ezekiel 39:12-16) as evidence of this. They also say Zechariah 14:12, which you mentioned, describes the effect of a neutron bomb. A smaller number includes the destruction of Damascus in Isaiah 17, although to me that reference is less certain to be nuclear. Whether Iran will launch a nuclear weapon on Israel before the rapture is anybody’s guess.
