Q. Today there is much fervor about the Israeli cattlemen trying to breed the red heifer, and the passion to rebuild the Temple. With the coming animal sacrifices, will the Jewish people acknowledge their sin problem and their need for blood atonement? Will the coming sacrificial system point them to the atoning work of Messiah Yeshua? Will this be an awakening for Israel?
A. Israel’s awakening will come in two phases. First will be their national return to the Old Covenant relationship they enjoyed in Biblical times. This will take place following the Battle of Ezekiel 38 (Ezekiel 39:22) and will prompt the building of a temple, the resumption of animal sacrifices, and the commencement of Daniel’s 70th Week.
The second phase will take place toward the end of the Great Tribulation and will result in them finally recognizing Jesus as their Messiah (Zech. 12:10-14)
