Life In The Great Tribulation

Q

You have said that after the rapture the world will be left to fend for itself. What about the 144,000 Jewish servants of God and the 2 Witnesses and the Holy Spirit will Who still be on earth and also the “angels”? Revelation says many will be saved during the tribulation.

A

You’re right of course. But what I meant is that during the time of God’s wrath all the restraints God has imposed on the world will be released (2 Thes. 2:7) and evil will be free to do its worst. Jesus said it will more terrible than anything the world has ever seen, and will never be equaled again. He said if He didn’t return to put a stop to it no one would survive (Matt. 24:21).

And while the Holy Spirit will be ministering, the 144,000 will be preaching, and the 2 witnesses will be witnessing, salvation will often be followed by martyrdom because refusing to worship the anti-Christ will be punishable by death (Rev.13:15).

People who take the anti-Christ’s loyalty mark will be condemned to hell forever (Rev. 14:9-11), and those who refuse to take it will be excluded from society, unable to work, or even buy the food they’ll need (Rev. 14:17).

Also, for those who are saved during that time, there will be no guarantee against the loss of their salvation like the church has. In the face of hopeless conditions, any retreat from total reliance on God could deprive them of their salvation and send them to Hell forever (Rev. 14:12 & 16:15). Believe me when I say that you wouldn’t wish this experience on your worst enemy.

Paul said this time will come upon the unbelieving people of the world suddenly and they will not escape (1 Thes. 5:3). But no one has to go through this, because he also said believers are not appointed to suffer God’s wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thes. 5:9). Time is running out. Tell your friends. Don’t let them say we didn’t warn them.
